This program is for you if...
Traditional composting methods haven't worked for you.
You already know the benefits of using nutrient-rich compost, but you haven't been able to compost food scraps through traditional composting methods like backyard compost piles.
You don't have yard waste.
You have food scraps but not piles of leaves, grass clippings, or other yard debris to make traditional composting ratios work.
You don't want a visible compost pile in your yard.
You don’t have room for a large compost pile or you live in a neighborhood where a visible compost pile isn't realistic. You need something discreet that fits your space so you don't have to worry about complaints.
You're concerned about pests like rats or raccoons.
You’re worried about attracting rats, raccoons, or smells, especially with close neighbors or wildlife nearby. Or, your traditional compost pile never heated up enough to process the food scraps and the pests got to them first.
You just don't think composting is possible in your space.
You've always assumed that you cannot compost because of your space or site limitations.
You want a simple system that fits your real-life space.
You don’t want to manage ratios, moisture, or turning large piles.
If any of these sounds like you, keep reading, because you’re exactly where you need to be.

The Bokashi Bootcamp™

What is The Bokashi Bootcamp™?
The Bokashi Bootcamp™ is a guided implementation program designed to help you set up a working bokashi compost system in your home.
You’ll start with a live kickoff training where we walk through the process and create a plan for your setup. You’ll also receive simple, downloadable resources to help you plan your setup and follow the process at home.
Then, instead of being left on your own to figure the rest out, you’ll get two full months of support as you implement so you can ask questions, troubleshoot, and move forward knowing exactly what to do.
By the end of the program, you’ll…
- Have a compost system set up and working in your home.
- Have your own unique plan for how you are going to use the nutrient-rich compost and compost tea before you even begin so you are never left wondering what is the next step.

Let's turn your food scraps into nutrient rich compost the easy way!
What makes this different?
Most composting resources focus on general advice and one-time instructions, then you're off on your own to figure the rest out.
This program is different because:
We start with a plan before you begin.
Before you learn any of the how-to information, we begin with your end plan in place so you'll know exactly what you'll do during each phase.
You learn the why behind each step.
In addition to the how-tos, I share best practices, tips, tricks, and common misunderstandings during each step. I share the why behind the steps without going into complex composting science so you can make your own informed decisions.
You'll get support along the way.
Because most of the questions come after the class when you are implementing at home. This is where most people get stuck or run into common misunderstandings.
How does that sound?
“This system works perfect for a small household with limited resources and space.”
"I was unable to have a compost pile at my new home due to husband worrying about rats, and me being worried about my new HOA neighbors freaking out, so I love how I can compost “on the sly” with Bokashi (ie, guerilla composting)"
“You are a great teacher. Very relatable and very patient with us newbies.”
WELCOME, FRIEND!
Hi! I'm Jen
Bokashi Compost Coach
I help gardeners turn your food scraps into nutrient-rich compost using a simple, discreet system that works without yard waste, messy piles, or pests, even in small spaces or wildlife-heavy areas.
My approach comes from years of real, hands-on experience composting in a townhouse with close neighbors, associations, limited space, and plenty of pest pressure from an adjacent greenspace.
I’ve also spent years doing community outreach and education as a volunteer, where I heard the real concerns people have about composting, from pests and space limitations to not having enough yard waste. I also saw how some people struggled to take composting advice and apply it to their own real-life setup.
Before this, I spent 20 years as a technical writer and product support consultant. That experience shaped how I teach today. I help you understand not just what to do, but the why behind it and how to make it work in your own home and situation.
“This works for me where other compost programs have not, and I like having the benefit of composting my own food scraps.”
"I was disappointed to find out here that an outdoor pile could attract rats, plus my HOA probably wouldn’t allow it. I was resigned to schlepping my food scraps to the community recycling bin, and having to buy commercially made fertilizer. I luckily found out about a Bokashi composting class taught by Jen. I now am turning my food scraps into healthy compost INSIDE my home with no smell or bugs. So happy to have learned about this process that is easy to do, saves money, and contributes to the health of our planet.”
“The compost tea has really benefited my plants.”
